Looking at getting an A3 printer, hence my A4 printer becomes redundant as a sub printer .... so is there any reason why I can not just put it back to the original inks?

Should be fine. If you want any ink Janners then let me know next time you order and I'll fill any void in your package with cartridges. We've hundreds of sets just collecting dust!
