Design help anyone?
Re: Design help anyone?
hi
new to illustrator/gimp and wondered if anyone can tell me how you can do this.
ive drawn an image in illustrator (can do in photoshop aswell) but want to pull the union jack into it so it is a shirt design and I want to put different flags in it but cant seem to overlay it so it merges with the picture,it either seems to go over or under the image, how do I make the image transparent? Its a bit like these mug designs, you can insert your photo into the middle of the mug design that is what I want to do?
have looked on the forums for illustrator but cant seem to find it and have spent til 2am looking for it so am a bit desperate now any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Lisa

Re: Design help anyone?
Illustrator is a huge program and i would suggest you learn the basics of photoshop first regarding layers and how to overlay images. Illustrator's layers can be weird sometimes depending on what you;re trying to achieve.
I'd be happy to help you and guide you for future designs but trust me, photoshop and especially illustrator are massive programs that demand user knowledge or else you're gonna lose lots of work or get disheartened by the whole experience.
I would set aside some "learning time" every night and google for photoshop tutorials. Theres 10000's out there and they'll take you from the very basic stuff right upto complex ways to design. Ive been using it for nearly 10 years and I still find little gems of advice and whatnot off the tutorial sites.
good luck
Dave.
