Ebay Fees
Re: Ebay Fees
Perhaps its me getting old? I looked at opening an Ebay shop because listing items via Buy It Now cost 40 pence insertion fee. So I read the info on opening a basic Ebay shop - I read the info twice to make sure. I thought I understood there is a monthly fee of £14.95 plus a listing would now cost me 10 pence instead of 40 pence. How wrong I was! It costs 10 pence for the insertion fee PLUS 10 pence to list it via the shop (a total of 20 pence) and then the £14.95 per month. So if my maths are correct and I sell 75 items per month then for the entire month I will be a whole 5 pence better off!
Re: Ebay Fees
remember that without a shop, you can have a lot of listing variations in one buy-it-now advert, and run the ad for 30 days for only 40p ... in effect, you can use one buy-it-now advert almost like a shop.
Re: Ebay Fees
Are you sure - I've got a shop and only pay an insertion fee - which is the listing fee.How wrong I was! It costs 10 pence for the insertion fee PLUS 10 pence to list
You need more than 75 items and the listing is for a whole month.
Re: Ebay Fees
I also got a basic shop - listing fees - 0.10p
plus - your monthly fee of £14.95 for the basic shop, and i,m sure there is VAT on that as well = £17.95
To make it worth your while, you really need minimum of 50-75 items to list to save but -
since you are a "new" store, they will limit you on how much you can list/sell in the first 90 days. Having a business acc (ebay & bank) and verified business paypal account, helps lift some of the limits they give you.
We are gonna phone them tomorrow and see if they can raise it again for us, as we cannot sell any of the variations of our products due to the selling limits !!
We now got 10 positive seller feedback so we were told when we got that, we had to phone back and they would raise the limit more
Heres hoping they do tomorrow, so we can get more listed and generate more interest

Re: Ebay Fees
If your trying to lift your limits, have you got selling manager, where is says monthly selling allowances and request higher amount, if you click on that it will give you a phone number and code, you will usualy get straight through to an english person and your limits lifted while you are on the phone.
Re: Ebay Fees
Be careful telling an Irish person that they are English!viccar;64201 wrote: you will usualy get straight through to an english person and your limits lifted while you are on the phone.
