1st mug printed
Re: 1st mug printed
i have printed my first mug it is faded slightly along the bottom reading other post iam possibly looking at needing to increase the pressure. the image is slighty dull looking butsharp if that makes sense . iam using the ricoh priner i have installed the power driver but if i set this as the default printer nothing gets sent to print the default priner is ticked as the ricoh printer so is it using the power driver or just the win driver iam not that good with computers
this could be problem with the dullness ? iam using trupix paper but iam using cheaper mugs for testing any advice would be gratefully accepted
Re: 1st mug printed
Steve....the print quality might be a combination of heat/pressure/time needing adjustment. In my set up I do everything through powerdriver for printing so despite having my Ricoh set as a printer I run things through Corel draw.....select print....select powerdriver and then print. Hopefully this makes sense.
Regarding pressure make sure the press mat is tight enough to slightly wrap around the edges of the mug. Another tip is to make sure your mug (if they are stored somewhere cold) is pre warmed. I usually put mine in the press for about 30 seconds at 'idle' temp just to make sure.
Good luck.

Re: 1st mug printed
thanks roger i think the temp and time are ok as its the same as many others who are having good results using same printer and paper i think it could be pressure the handle is fairly easy to push down and from memory it did not look like the press mat was wrapping around the edge having read a few post i did pre heat the mug . i then placed another mug into the press until idle temp reached 110 then swapped mugs temp then went to 170 for 140 secs which seems to be about the norm from what i have read
Re: 1st mug printed
Try not swapping the mugs until the temp reaches 170 and a bit more pressure.
Yes print - powerdriver - print

Re: 1st mug printed
If you are wanting to continue doing mugs of that size, you will need to buy a press that can accommodate the chunkiness of the handle.
Is the black line on the transfer paper before you press to the mug?
Is the black line above the edge of where your transfer paper is, ie the bare mug is touching the press itself and not paper, and may be getting transferred from the press itself?

Re: 1st mug printed
they are 110z they was on offer so thought i would buy some for testing would it be worth trying to put a sheet of silcon in beetween or am i wasting my time ? i think the black line maybe at the paper edge i think i may have trimmed it short not sure what to do next
Re: 1st mug printed
It doesn't look like the mug is as snug in the clamp on the left side of the image as it is on the right..
Behind every great man.. is a surprised mother in law..
Re: 1st mug printed
Even if you cut the paper short it wouldnt leave a black line, unless ink was on the paper or press.
What press have you got, is it the right blanket for that size mug? How wide is the handle of the mug?
