trying to move photoshop from laptop to new pc?

hi can some one help me? ive just bought a new pc with windows 8 I have photoshop elements on my laptop and I have a external hardrive to move programs etc, I cant seem to move photoshop to the hard drive, it keeps moving the short cut but not the whole file, (ive lost my original copy etc):cool: anyone advise me where to find the full program?
