Inkscape and Ricoh printing

I'm having problems printing from Inkscape to my Ricoh GXe3300N. If I go through Inkscape and do File -> Print nothing happens:mad:. If I save the file as a pdf and then open this using Adobe, then file-> print from Acrobat everything is fine.

Only problem is that I'll loose image quality from Inkscape to pdf as it converts my nice vector mug designs to a bitmap and therefore looses edge definition especially when doing small font sizes.

Any ideas?
