Re: Software and fonts

Post by christine71 »

I am a newbie, so finding this forum a great help.
Perhaps you could all advise me on the best software to use, I have tried gimp and photo studio 6. But I find you cant use fonts uploaded for windows. I am looking to add text to t shirts in 2 tone colours etc, but I can't seem to find a way of doing this on gimp etc.
I am jsut about to buy the t shirt press and mug press etc, but still struggling with software. Was hoping to not have to spend around £500 on saftware.

Thankyou in advance for any help you all give

i cant see why you can not use your fonts...?!
BUt GIMP wont be usable as it dont offer color management.
Best software for your need would be adobe photoshop elements.

You can get PhotoShop Elements 10 for around £60-£70 but if you get a Ricoh printer (e.g. the GXe3300) and use the PowerDriver software that is supplied free of charge then you can print directly from any windows based software programme.

With enough funds I'd suggest CS3 Illustrator and Photoshop along with Coralgraph. Lumapix Fotofusion is also a great program.

Re Windows based software - anything - word, internet explorer, photoshop, etc. So long as you can print from it then you can use PowerDriver to manage the colours to the Ricoh printer for sublimation printing.
