Various Sublimation Products advice

hi, after a little looking around and some EXCELLENT service from Listawood, (including sending me a box of free samples) i have placed my first order with them and next day it arrived at my door, i have ordered some bits and bobs to basicly use as promotional products to show my customers what i can supply.
a few quick questions please!
Sunshades what Temp and time?
Teddy bear t-shirts are they suitable for sublimation or do i use Transfer Paper?
Glass Cutting Boards, they have the glass on one side and sublimation on the other, does the picture show through the glass or is it underside, im not sure how to explain but it seems the Chopping bit (glass) is on one side and the white sub is on the other not sure which way to put it if you know what i mean.?

Not sure on sunshades and teddy tees but I can help you with the chopping boards.

Process as follows;

Print out your image, right reading, NOT mirrored.

Set heat press to 200 degrees, 6 minutes, with a firm pressure.

Place the printed image face up on bed of heat press and then place the chopping board white side touching the print.

Close press and sublimate for the time above.

Rinse and repeat

Best thing to do is go to www.xpres.co.uk and find their support section. You can download a nice big A3 PDF that has all the sublimation products on it and how long to press and at what temperature.

Sunshades & Teddy t-shirt - we'd recommend Press @ 190 degrees for 50-60 seconds, medium pressure

With the sunshades I'd put a sheet of silicon below to prevent blead through of the ink as these are generally very thin and ink can be deposited on the base of your press resulting in a ghost image coming back on the next print (and the next... and the next... )

If you are sublimating an item like a tile or picture frame or chopping board or slates where you are laying the item on top of your sublimation transfer and pressing then you need time for the substrate to heat up thoroughly for a good transfer so 6mins or longer is not uncommon. I use 8 minutes when producing tiles. It is also worth remembering that depending on your sublimation printer you may need to increase or decrease this time.

I suggest you talk to Listawood tec support !
We expect to produce a little waste each time we introduce new product, but your supplier should be your first port of call for this type of question. If they don't have the answers, try a different supplier!
