IMO the whole 'sporting' event has been overshadowed by mis-management, overspend and worst of all 'corporate greed'.....hence I'll be glad when it's all over

Hello Stupid lol,

I must admit I think like you that something 'bad' is going to happen. I just hope I am terribly wrong and that it all goes off without major issue.

I think it all got very stupid when McDonalds stopped others around the venue selling chips because, they have the sole rights to selling french fries. In my own opinion what McDonald's sell is nothing like a proper good old British chip.

I see that we are doing is what us Brits do best ..... 'diss'
There is already a feeling of big event overload, - Queenie, Euro footy, tennis, - and next the big O - which I think none of us think we can really pull off,....
- but I think we will.
We might turn up late for a party, but when we get there !
The Olympics is everywhere, but everyone's hands are tied, - the main sponsors have soo much tied up in it, the Gov get bashed for everything coz that is just polotics, and mr Logobear cannot print a t with 5 rings coz he will loose his house!
The economy is in tatters, future uncertain, ....
Even the weather sucks!
So, in summary, - business as usual!
I am looking forward to the synchronised swimming events;-)
