But 3 weeks ago i got myself a new toy.... & can't leave it alone... (Before you all jump in... I'm a bloke & it doesn't use batteries !)

27" Imac. Absolutely stunning.
Been a windows man since the beginning. so this has been a massive jump for me.

So anyone using a mac with useful advice, then please feel free...

Using CS5 for sublimation images & so far so good. Seems hell of a lot quicker on CS5 alone compared to windows... just trying to find appropriate software similar to what i was using on Windows 7, for template software etc..

Anyways.. i'm back...

Its a religious thing lol - I remember an article comparing the difference between mac and pc users as being equivalent to the difference between catholics and protestants. I am glad I am not a religious expert and can offer no similar comparisons. I always fancied trying a mac but would I think miss the diversity of software available for the pc.

I have spent a week looking at different cutter software packages and the choice is both amazing and bewildering - although unlike others I did at least get my chinese plotter working without too much hassle - assembling the stand however was a different matter

Anyway welcome back and let us know how you get on.

Is CS5 on a Mac not the same as CS5 on Windows?

I think Macs would be ok if they halved the price

But Macs now use standard hardware, the same as Windows pcs, so if the OS is only £20 someone is making a huuuuge markup ;-)

Well. It depends what way you look at it. They made they os to be best as it can be for they computer. They desihn them so they know how to design software fo it. What microsoft do is only desgn the os. Nohing else.

Yep, that's why they have a reputation for stabililty - they control everything.
Doesn't justify the high price though :)

I do think that Windows 7 is very reliable though. Hopefully Windows 8 will be even better.
