for all the guys using opencart - trying to find out if its my host or opencart software itself that slowing down.

The more i seem to add to my store, the dam slower its seems to be getting opening pages up.
Have heard moans on the OC forum that some PPL were having probs.....
opening image manager is slightly slower as well..

anyone else experience this slowing down, sometimes even timing out

over 100 products bud and still adding  - but it is very heavly modded.......thinking it might be my host - as i have had 2 outages over the last 2/3 wks....ok, only lasting 20-30 mins each but....

not my isp - getting constant 16.5meg from sky as always - they dont change thank god.
and its not my pc - just reformated the whole lot about 2/3 mths ago.....more than enough memory / storage ect.

thats just leave my host or the opencart software...HMMM...

or maybe its just me being dam impatient

Well, I am not experiencing too many problems with my opencart at the moment but still very slowly inputting my items ready for launch. I will keep an eye on how it performs and let you know but so far happy with the forum member's special deal hosting on christianhosting.

Loaded fine for me but as you've got it in maintenance mode i can't check page load times.

If i were you i wouldn't put it in maintenace mode as google hates this, if you google your domain it has maintenance displayed in google this could effect your site showing up in future as several people have had this problem using opencart. I would just put a message on homepage telling your customers your currently updating your site and hope to complete soon.

yeh i have heard storys on that to mattie.....

i aint got a "homepage" bud......i think i got a page with 123reg when i bought my domain...

its getting close to me opening anyway and it will take google at least 1/2 mths to get my domain on there WITHOUT the maintinace mode showing - so, i think you could be right bud - time to get homepage sorted till store ready to open doors so to speak

aye....just tryed to create web page with 123reg ( free with domain) - why cant they give me a bloody blank page to work with instead of this "instant site " crap ????
i only want a friggin web page with some details & pics - i DONT want a full site with menus and the rest of the crap they give you.....

try using the opencart default homepage but just have the "welcome module" on it and put your message in that box
