oh and then another 10 secs once the baking comes off just to make sure
Re: what setting should i use for vinyl
it depends on the type/brand of vinyl as each manufacturer has their own specification

absolutly right, some pre press, some dont, some hot peel, some warm peel and some have to be almost cold, almost all require a re-press after the backing is offRogerC;46571 wrote:it depends on the type/brand of vinyl as each manufacturer has their own specification

I normally prepress for a few seconds, press at 20 seconds, then a finishing press at around 15 seconds at 170 degrees c. However, I used some 123flex the other day and might change to that, 160 degress and 3 second press, no prepress or finishing press - amazing stuff!

never used a flex that takes 40 or even 20 seconds ?? most of the old style ones are 12 at most, temp between 160 and 170 depending on manufacturer - teh hardest bit is the different backings - hot / warm / cold peel - do the wrong one and you will have messed up the t shirt

Re: what setting should i use for vinyl
I find the flock backing to be a nightmare, it comes off easy enough but can leave a residue on the tshirt, which does come off thankfully. Some backing has virtually no tack whereas the flock would stick to almost anything I reckon!mrs maggot;46630 wrote:never used a flex that takes 40 or even 20 seconds ?? most of the old style ones are 12 at most, temp between 160 and 170 depending on manufacturer - teh hardest bit is the different backings - hot / warm / cold peel - do the wrong one and you will have messed up the t shirt

Re: what setting should i use for vinyl
the worst apart from flock is the reflective - hardly tacky when you weed it, but then the backing sticks to the fabric so hard on pressing, it comes off with black all over it, and that is using the correct settings and pressure and peeling cool as instructed - just wish it could be that tacky on weeding lol
