Re: Blotchy Blacks

Post by bassqee »

I have a ricoh 3300n and Just noticing when i have been printing that blacks and some other dark colours are coming out a bit blotchy, and this is causing me problems when printing as the image is not as sharp with some of my photos. As you can see from from my photo after pressing the blotchiness is still on the paper.

Any ideas whats up? using a mac with the icc profile from sawgrass installed.

It might be that your blacks are going off - too much heat for too long. What temp/ time are you using and what are you pressing onto?

I think there was a post here somewhere with similar issues on metal and the time was reduced. Might be worth a search, but I'd try taking the time down to closer to 40 seconds. Try it on an off cut piece of metal.

Are you leaving it a few seconds before you remove the paper?

If at first you don't succeed, read the manual.
