Re: Which mugs?

I'm about to order some more European Mugs from BMS and have noticed their extra white mugs. Can anyone tell me the difference between these (apart from them being 'extra white'). I don't want to get inferior mugs as I'll end up wasting them.

Any info would be appreciated.

I think one dishwasher safe, the other isn't, but it would be best to clarify this with Martin.

The European mugs are RN coated and guaranteed dishwasher safe for a year, whereas the budget mugs have a different coating. These are still under test but six months on from printing our initial test mug, its still going strong in the dishwasher.

So, are you going to guarantee these? - I could have sworn that you had something along the lines of "Hand wash only" on your website for these mugs!

No we aren't going to guarantee these. The only mugs we will guarantee are the RN coated versions.

Hi Martin,
To the untrained eye - is there any difference in quality between the Euro mug and these budget mugs.

Cheers John

They are much brighter white (some folk like this, others don't). Size wise they are the same so from a customer perspective there is little difference. Just depends really if you like the brighter white and don't need to guarantee dishwasher safeness (to the extent that we do with the RN coated mugs) then these will be fine.

Are the "European" mugs called such, as they are manufactured in Europe, or because the design/style/size is considered European, or is just a name?

It's the name we give to these types of mugs to differentiate them from others in the market. Just like cambridge mugs aren't made in Cambridge, China mugs aren't all made in China, 11oz mugs are all made in 11ozland (no seriously, but you get my drift!)
