Does anyone have one or experience of this machine?

Or is Stichup the only person here to own a DTG?

Lots unfortunately but firstly does the machine run with a specific software/dongle? Do they absolutely need a specific software?

Some years ago in my ignorance I bought a mc which cost me more because of the dongle, now granted the software was designed to be simple etc but I didn't realise we could have paid less for it and just used it with photoshop as we do now.

The software came with the DTG and mine is specific to the machine. Each DTG has its own "board" inside that has been installed by the manufacturer so it works best with their software. The RIP software with the Neo is Very flexible. It is not like Sublimation printing. You MUST fine tune the print output for each colour t-shirt. The Neo software will not print black onto a black t-shirt once you have told it that its printing onto black. But if you then print the same picture onto a Navy t-shirt, then you need to adjust the output so black is printed. Print onto red or onto yellow are all different settings. Neo software will do it.
It takes a while to learn and Mr Stitch and I occasionally exchange ideas on how to print. If you bought a DTG from Neo or another make we would try and help you as well.
And yes , it comes with a Dongle.
All the DTG sellers of every machine ( in Germany) will sell it with the best RIP software for their machine.

If you want to talk then Pm and I will give you my Skype name.

Can it not run without a dongle then? Can you not use "multi rip" rather than the favoured manufacturer rip software ?

BTW where abouts in Germany are you?

I dont know about Multi RIP, sorry. Ill admit to being a bit ignorant about RIP softwares but I do know that you must be able to fine tune the output to the printer for each colour its printing on. You must also be able to change the amount of white underbase it prints on the first pass and the intensity of white and colours on the second pass. Its not hard to learn but you need to spend a week experimenting with various setups.
My software needs a dongle, maybe other RIP softwares dont. I had an Advantage from Sawgrass to try out before I bought the Neo. That had a dongle as well. And since then Sawgrass have given up on DTG.

I live on the north side of an area called the Ruhrgebiet. Essen, Dortmund, Düsseldorf and Cologne are the biggest cities that make up that area. Drop in if you are passing by.

20 Years ago I would have popped in whilst I was passing as I lived in Kaiserslautern, unfortunately a bit out of our way now.
Thanks for the info Earl we'll do a little more investigating.
It does sound a little more complicated than I thought, or more to the actual print method.

My dad has been researching for over a year now and has gained a lot of knowledge re the machines but unfortunately I am totally ignorant of this type of printing.

One more point I must add.
Whichever DTG you buy. You MUST have backup and someone to talk to about the machine and printing. They are NOT plug and play machines like a normal printer.
If you do embroidery you will know what I mean. Support is number one.

Im sure he wont mind me saying this but why not talk to John at Stitch Up. Maybe he can demonstrate his DTG for you.

Kaiserslautern sehr schön. You must have been in the military then? But Cornwall is much more beautiful, ( saw it on TV last night).
