Well.. after spending £160 for this printer and not being able to get it to work and the forum member I bought it from not wanting to take it back I have no choice but to try and sell this now as spares or repair to try and recoup some of my lost money!I have just put in brand new ink cartridges (see pic). The problem is whenever I send a print to the printer it gets anywhere from about 25% to 75% through the print job and then halts. So far out of about 20 test prints it's only managed to print 1 correctly.I am open to offers!Regards, Philip

I agree with paul - 160 is a lot of money to lose.Esp as it was brought in good faith. (you never got to try it before parting with money)
Ive been ripped off in the past and its not a good feeling,so know how you feel at moment.
As for the seller - he may of sold it working but from his house to yours something obviously went wrong and you should not be paying for that alone.
The best solution if none can be found,is you get half your money back and you both take a hit on this machine.
Then there is no loser and no winner and just experience gained.........................

I think you need to be a little careful here. There is no proof that the seller did rip Philip off, there could be a reasonable explanation for this. Most likely something happened in transit, it sounds like the box may have sat upside down....maybe it was shaken...we'll never know but I'm sure there's grounds for a claim against the courier.

By the sounds of it the fault is down to the carriage/paper feed.

no not saying he did - if u read on i say someonthing obviously happened between his house and arrival etc
but no matter what if u was the buyer you would be feeling pretty ripped off..............

thats how i meant it.

@cardman... I agree, I don't believe he sent me a faulty item but that's what I received. The couriers must have been sloppy, how else can a pool of ink end up on top of the ink cartridge? Lets hope I can get this sorted out.

@Paul... He paid TNT to send it, I did mention that surely they will have to offer compensation but that didn't get me anywhere either. Hopefully I can sort this out tomorrow with him as I have tried absolutely everything now. Edit (Tried everything with the printer I mean).

This is the only post i am going to put as i feel this is nothing to do with other forum members (not wanting to sound harsh) and have been comunicating via email with Philip.

I have submitted a claim with the courier and awaiting photo's from Philip as requested by the courier then we'll go from there.

Sounds like a memory problem to me. Does it do this when sending the 'test print page' (not the nozzle check) from the Driver? If this works I'd try another PC first.

yes, from the Print Test Page from the printer properties, as well as from any application. I have also tried it from my PC and a laptop, same issue on both. From further testing this is what I've managed to discover. In the Printer Properties page there are 5 print quality settings which are: Draft, Text, Text & Image, Photo, and Best Photo. If any of the first 3 options are selected and a print is sent then the print job will certainly fail, if Photo is selected then it manages to go through, although it tends to smear the ink so the printed result is still of little use. I guess that if the print head is moving slow enough, which it does when using the Photo settings then it doesn't halt, any faster and its buggered. using Draft will cause the issue almost instantly.
