Re: kindle covers
Thanks Martin - will it be early in March? Birthday is 25th Feb and can fob him off for a while ...
Re: kindle covers
Unlikely to be early March - they aren't on the water just yet!sarahjayne;38658 wrote:Thanks Martin - will it be early in March? Birthday is 25th Feb and can fob him off for a while ...
JSR - I think they are advertised as Kindle Fire
Re: kindle covers
I hope not! Unless I've missed something, the Kindle Fire is only available in the US. Covers for them would be pretty useless for us in the UK.bms;38700 wrote:JSR - I think they are advertised as Kindle Fire

Re: kindle covers
Exactly what I was thinking. Isn't the Kindle Fire a tablet and not the ebook reader that's been selling like hotcakes over here?JSR;38702 wrote:I hope not! Unless I've missed something, the Kindle Fire is only available in the US. Covers for them would be pretty useless for us in the UK.
Re: kindle covers
Yes. When Amazon changed their range recently, they introduced two new ebook readers without the keyboard, two Kindle Touch models, the Android tablet "Kindle Fire", and are maintaining their highly popular Kindle 3 (now known as "Kindle Keyboard").mastercueman;38705 wrote:Exactly what I was thinking. Here in the UK, we got ... the Kindle without the keyboard. That's it. The Kindle Fire, and the Kindle Touch models are US-only.
The only Kindles that are in the UK are the original Kindle, the Kindle 2, the Kindle 3 (now known as Kindle Keyboard), the 10" Kindle DX, and the new Kindle.
Ideally, we need Kindle covers for the Kindle 3 ("Kindle Keyboard") and the new non-Keyboard Kindle.
The covers also need to be pretty spectacular and pretty cheap. I have the Kindle 3, and I have the lighted cover. No one could make me change to a personalised cover for anything in the world. Anyone who can afford a decent cover will buy the one with the light. Anyone who can't afford it will only pay peanuts, because the Kindle is perfectly fine without a cover.

Re: kindle covers
Just bumping this thread as was wondering if it is definitely the Kindle Fire covers that are going to be on sale and not covers for the Kindle ebook readers that are available in the UK?

Re: kindle covers
Well to answer my own question above, the covers are indeed for the Kindle Fire (well the ones on CoralGraph are). Am i missing something here or are these pretty useless for us in the UK where the Kindle Fire is not on sale? I can foresee a few people buying these by mistake, thinking that they'd be able to use them for the latest Kindle over here.
