hi im new to sublimation just got myself a mug making kit i got myself a cheap epson s21 printer as i seen people where using them to start of but when i tryed to connect the ciss it comes up with no ink the printer i used was second hand so i decided to buy a new s22 but when i connected the ciss again same problem i have been through the instructions that come with the ciss and other tips on youtube. this is what i tyed(more then once) fill the ink in the ciss half way and let it run through then i turn the printer on to get it in the right position and back off again then i connect(i have also tryed connection the ciss with the printer on with no luck)i connect the ciss and push down till it clicks into place the sheet then says press the ink low button if it wont accept the ink. that dont work so i then turn the printer off for 20 seconds. when that does not work i press the button on top of the ink cartriges for 10 seconds then press the ink low button again. none of the above stuff works and i have been doing it for two full days now and have started to think im doing it wrong so any help would be great
thanks
ciss problem
Re: ciss problem
I had the s20 and could not get it to accept a ciss I switch to refill cartridges it worked ok but would not show a true ink level I'm now using the same cartridges in a dx 4400 and a sx218 now I get level readings that are ok so it may be the s series don't recognise the chips on ciss and refill cartridges, also if you bought this for the s21 I think the s22 uses different cartridges.
Re: ciss problem
The S21 & S22 are very different when it comes to the cartridge chips & CISS. Epson came up with a modification to stop people using refill cartridges & CISS when they brought out the S22. If you follow the link you can see what is needed for a S22 CISS to work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61gzRP6gQc0
