Sourcing Polymer plastic sheets/blocks for printing

Hi,
I have been thinking of trying to find a polymer factory/manufacturer to be able to get some items made for us to sublimation print.
What kind of polymer exactly do we need to be asking for though?

With the polymer mugs and plates available, it is obviously possible to find the right plastic product, but there are lots of polymer types, and a factory churning out plastic sheeting, and pipes aren't necessarily going to know anything about sublimation printing and heat presses.

I have a contact for the manager of a polymer factory in my parents' town, but I want to know what type of plastic I am asking for before I call.

Any advice?

I cant help you with this one as i dont know
But... would be worth to give them a call and ask them if they know something that can be heat resistent as they polymer gurus and they propobly know about all sort of types of polymer

Gillian, i am sure the company will know what type of polymer you need, if you find someone in their sales dept.

i think its because you have put HTTPS rather than HTTP on your link, as when you manually change it you can view the site, might be worth changing it in your signature

I'm using the latest version of Explorer and got to the home page just fine BUT, many of the links result in a page with a heading but the resy is black!

Only saying so you can correct things.

Hi - you need to choose a polymer that will withstand the temps needed for sublimation. Typically it will be a re-enforced engineering polymer - basically plastic (possibly a polyester e.g. PET or an epoxy which is compounded with fibre glass to give it better mechanical properties / heat performance). Not sure if you would still need a coating though for UV stability etc. Hope this helps.
