Re: PROBLEMS with pressing latte mugs

Post by PJames »

A really stupid question here!

I have recently brought a LATTE mug press (from coral) and the mugs keep 'popping' out of the heat blanket!!

It would seem as soon as you put any presssure on the mug, it jumps out......I have a secong conical wrap, which I set up and the same seems to happen with that one, but not so much??

I have tried all pressures, from next to nothing (which wont press the mug) to so much I actually cracked the mug pulling the handle...

ANY SUGGESTIONS???

This is one of the major flaws in conical heat elements. All depending on your press style you might be able to wedge something between the blanket and frame otherwise it's weight on top of the mug that is needed. If you have an open ended press with no frame to secure something accross the mug then you might be able to put the element in upside down. Not sure of the clearance etc.
