I'm wondering about the number of products to actually offer a personalised service on. Do you offer a whole range or do you just specialise in a particular dyesub area? I've had a go at lots of products and have my favourites but then also have loaths already, namely the keyrings, too darn fiddley those little things! And trying to decide whether offering something i don't 'really' like doing for the £'s or keeping it to a few items i enjoy working on and hope its enough to sustain us!

I learnt a long while ago not to just selling blanks/designs I liked. It's identifying the ones that sell and make you the most profit with the least work :-)

Sometimes it's better to have a handful of blanks rather than bombard the customer with too much choice.

If it will fit in the mug press or on the the swing away A3 flatbed press, then we will other it and print what ever on it for customers. In saying that if we feel that the finished product is not a good finish then that will not get offered.
We are based on the belief that our customers needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs.
(There are four of us in the team myself, my wife, my daughter and my son inlaw).

IMO - you have to walk before you can run.

Specialise on one or two products, then when your covering costs, and making a profit, plough this into more stock and a few samples that you think will sell.

Thanks for replies. Thinking i may do mostly sub T's as I already do vinyl, transfers and printed flock T's and hoodies, so far the sub's are proving very popular. But will also carry on with the mugs as my daughter is in 6th form with 100+ other girls and teenage girls change their minds weekly on whose in and whose out and i'm being asked to do a new I <3 someone or other mug nearly every day:smile:.(plus the latest teen heart throb also sells well on ebay)
