Re: Paper Question

Post by proprints »

I am now going to sound very stupid, but here goes.

Which side of the paper do you pint on the smooth or rough? Unfortunatly I have some cheap paper (I thought it was all the same) Oh well will purchase some after I have played with the printer for a bit.

Also with a Ricoh 3300 does the paper go in the tray shiny/smooth side up or rough side up

Cheers

I use the GX7000 with Xpress paper and it goes in shiny side down as paul says, you will soon see if you print and press the wrong side.

Jack.

I use Xpres paper (print on the bright white side), TruPix (print on the bright white side), and TexPrint (print on the side that doesn't have 'TexPrint' stamped all over it).

I've not seen a paper with a "shiny side".

Sometimes its really hard to tell which side is the printable side on the sub papers. The best way to tell is to lick the end of your thumb and forefinger and pinch the corner of your paper. The print side will feel tacky and stick more to your thumb/finger :)

Gently fold one corner over to compare it in natural daylight. Some papers can be a real pain. I'm an xpress paper fan myself.
