We have Gone and done it. ( Jumped in head first)
Re: We have Gone and done it. ( Jumped in head first)
Well after reading through forum threads and some good advice from a couple of the forum members, we booked a visit to Xpress.
The wife, daughter, Granddaughter (School holidays so you have to take them with you) and myself. went to Xpress, as soon as we turned through the gate I thought blimey I should of worn a suit and tie, as it is a very impressive place.
On meeting Mark who usually covers the north, but Tom the southern salesman was busy, we were offered a cup of coffee.
Then we settled down to be shown their range of equipment, we would of like to of bought it all but the budget didn't stretch to cover the vinyl's side aswell. So we settled for the Adkins 38 x 50 heatpress,(life time guarantee on the heating element) the Ricoh GX7000, and the Adkins single mugpress. It took us a little bit over the budget but as members on here have said "Buy cheap and you buy twice", I am sure paying the extra for the quality will pay in the end.
So now we are buy setting up what was the computer/Embroidery room to take some heavy gear. lol
Thanks again to the members concerned for the private messages and the forum in general for helping take some of the (I'm I buying the right things) stress away.
Now if we can just get some orders for the merchandise. lol
Jack.

If at first you don't succeed, read the manual.

A good thing to get for your heat press is one of the kitchen trolley things from Ikea. Can't remember the name but I've got one for my heatpress and one for my embroidery machine.

Great choice of Supplier and equipment Jack, I wish you all the best with it. Which Mark was it you met with?

Thank's Sharon, but we have just installed a 1800 x 1200 curved office desk, and I am collecting an office table today so they should fit on that lot and leave us plenty of laying out and folding and packing room.draig;29438 wrote:A good thing to get for your heat press is one of the kitchen trolley things from Ikea. It was Mark Rossi, a real nice bloke who managed to answer questions being fired from 3 different sides. lol.Justin;29454 wrote:Great choice of Supplier and equipment Jack, I wish you all the best with it. Which Mark was it you met with?

Mark's a great bloke, very knowledgeable. They offered me a job a few years back, wish I'd taken it but had to have a go by myself :-)Bear in mind the space required for the press, they swing right back so the main body needs to be away from the wall. This can lead to dead desk space unless you overhang the end.

the press needs bolting down, you would not want it falling on you, and they do move over time.
