I've used flock and flex on a few designs Paul but I've always done my designs so the flock goes onto the material and not onto other parts of flex - don't know why but if I can I tend to avoid multi-layering if possible so it's not as thick (although I have done it in the past)

An example of avoiding the multi-layering is below:

5 layer design Paul?

There's only 3 colours Red, White & Blue (not including the t-shirt as this is black) so do you mean 3 layer design using the black of the t-shirt for the letters??

1-white,2-red,3-blue, 4white again letters shade :),5-black letters.

letters are blac layer of flex :D
this is actulay not real layers and first 3 i did "your" way. then last 2 full layers

BTW! this is vinyl from YOULO! its fantastic for this kind ogf job! weeding is pure pleasure now as you dont need to use force pe weed :) backing should be little sticky tho for easy layering but you cant hae everything :)

Paul - I just looked at the Yolo garment vinyl and I was just about to order some metalic gold and silver ................. then I noticed 'hand wash' only?

Reference putting flex on top of flock ................. I don't think it would work. It may stick but I don't think it would look nice and be very durable without a close surface to stick to.

When I first started doing vinyl I did a fleece with vinyl - although it stuck to it there was a lot of play as the fibres moved behind the vinyl, I never washed the fleece and ended up binning it!
