Re: Parcel Delivery P4D update

I am not connected to them in anyway - but find their same day collection service invaluable, and the fact they are now at 20kg from 15 helps also

Dear all,

We have some exciting news about the City Link service we offer.

We took your feedback, summoned the P4D genie, and now offer to you the following four NEW features:

* Same Day Collections: Book before 11.30am for a Same Day collection with delivery the next day for only £6.99.
* Multiple Collection Discounts: The more parcels you send with City Link, the more you now save! Prices range from £6.90 for two parcels to £6.50 for more than six. Visit our multiple discount page for more.
* Heavier Parcels Allowed: The restriction on parcel weight for this service was originally set at 15kg, but now you can send parcels up to 20kg for the same fantastic price.
* Save on Consignments: If you're sending a batch of parcels directly from one address to another, there are now big savings to be made.

Book a parcel today.

We hope you continue to reap the benefits of our new City Link service and take full advantage of the new offers.

If you haven't yet seen our 'Film Night' competition, don't miss it! You can win a BluRay player and a film of your choice. We've been inundated with some fantastic ideas for film titles: www.P4D.co.uk/entries The closing date is midday tomorrow.

If you have any parcel delivery queries please email customers@P4D.co.uk directly.

Best wishes,

Natalie Gilbert

Sounds like good rates there. Are these inc of VAT? Presumably if you have a package weighing, say, 30kg then you have to book this as 2 consignments?

plus vat - sorry, if its more than 20kkg, you just use the drop down box on the site and it re-calculates for you. but they will now collect late on in the day for next day delivery, so you are getting a proper commercial service as it were rather than the 2nd rate service that was offered to non-businesses as it were before, but the details are all on their website

Must admit that I was a bit dubious when P4D did the hot-foot shuffle with their prices recently (clearly they've just been confused about the Yodel rebranding of DHL), but their latest email about CityLink certainly looks like they're moving in the right direction.

Not yet sure if I trust CityLink enough, but I may give them a try next time I'm sending out a box.

This kind of thing doesn't help P4D's reputation:
Heavier Parcels Allowed: The restriction on parcel weight for this service was originally set at 15kg, but now you can send parcels up to 20kg for the same fantastic price.
This isn't "fantastic" news. Prior to the recent changes, we could have DHL send up to 30Kg for £6.99+VAT. The drop to 15Kg was abominable. Going up to 20Kg is a feeble attempt to fix the abominable, it's hardly "fantastic".
