Re: Ideas for fitness goods?

Post by chongsta »

Hi all,

Ive been asked to compile as many products to do with the fitness market. A local gym has franchised out and now they want to sell goods to the franchisee's. They want their logo on all items, thus sublimation :)

So far all i can think of is water bottles, towels & gym bags. Im not aware of sub dye sweat bands but im sure they're out there (Martin:))

any ideas?

I could tempt them with extras like key rings or mugs etc. but im after workable goods like the ideas above^. I already do tshirts and hoodies for them by the way.

many thanks
Dave

Personally I'd look towards the promotional side of things. Key rings, badges, pedometers even, anything with their name and logo on. Contract it all out, get a good mark-up for just placing an order and work as the middleman :-)

cheers Justin.

I hear you but the margins are tight because they want from me, and then sell to their client....who then sells on again. I have someone in mind to print the tricky stuff like metal keyrings, badges etc. the Pedometer is interesting though, thanks for that.

I could do the towels and water bottles myself to keep costs down but yeah, things like pedometers would be difficult to do and i'd outsource for them. Theyre after quantities in 100's anyway, so the tricky stuff can goto someone else.

I also thought about USB sticks as well. Ok its not fitness but its a nice touch. I know Listawood supply these at decent prices on quantity, does BMS?

Does anyone know any sources for proper gym bags/holdalls/backpacks ? The ones i had in mind were the typical kind of square bag with a drawstring on it (available from Ralawise), but im after proper zip up bags too.

cheers

I think Listawood supply USB sticks printed as opposed to 'printable'.

On the fitness side, there are the sports vests (we've just added plain white ones, cheaper than CoolTex in the past week online) and they print up really well.

At our gym the three most popular printable items are the tshirt/ vest, water bottle and towel. After that you may be looking at goods that aren't used, but have some value added away from the gym with logos on them and then it's keyrings and the like, possible the padded mobile phone socks and glasses cases when they are packed in the bag in the locker.

There are also the armbands for football/ rugby players, plaques for sports photos, trophy labels, travel mugs and the creative mind goes on!

You could look at bottled water with the gyms logo on the label, these look very good.

How often do you go down to the gym Paul in your boxer shorts (or even thong come to that) I think 'underwear' is a little different to normal gym kit:biggrin::biggrin:

Yes there are sources for polyester boxer shorts and ladies thongs.

I am not sayng that ladies are doing they workout in the underware! (would be nice thou!! :) ) but lot people like to wear branded stuff. so another bit of garment with the logo of they favorite gym on the shelf in the gym shop wont hurt ;)
