Has anyone done these?

I ordered a few as I thought I would put them up on the 'wall of choice' I have (various products).

Only when I decided on what I was going to put on it and the size I thought about how to press it as it has a zip on the back.

I wanted to get a large photo on the cushion (13 inches by 13 inches) so laying it flat you have the zip behind one side. I normally pad things out with a mouse mat but this is far too big an area for that and two mouse mats together will cause a line in the image.

Anyone any ideas?

Adam

cut a square of cardboard and cover it with some foam or som ekind of padding..works a treat if you pop it inside the cushion cover :)

Like it - or even a bit of cardboard with an old t-shirt wrapped around to give a mit of play but flat on both sides so I get heat to all of the cover.

Many thanks fredster ............. sometimes the obvious is just a friend away ;-)

i was lucky ..the zips were on the edge of the covers but still use the padded cardboard as the cushion covers had a piped edge to them..looked great when done though :)

I managed to slide mine over the heat press and do them that way, after mucking up the first one because of the zip.

I think it's a daft place to have a zip anyway, should be at the side

Zips should be at the side. Not just for easier pressing but because it allows you to print both sides of the cushion cover - which is a great selling point. With the zip across the back, you can't print on the back.

I had to try this after I locked up the shop and it worked very, very well (2 bits of cardboard plus an old t-shirt wrapped around the cardboard making sure that the finished 'pad' is level and flat.

I think the finished product is very nice (the print measures 12.5 inches by 12.5 inches).

No Paul, the picture is fine and the print is great.

I have fluorescent lighting in the shop and it affects me taking pictures of stuff every now and then.

I did try to alter the colours in photoshop once I'd took it but it was making it worse and to be honest I couldn't be bothered messing around with the image (if it was a demo image I would have). Not that I don't care about you all ................. I just wanted to get an image up and to thank fredster for coming back to me so quickly.
