Major Print Quality Issues After Sawgrass Print Utility Update

Hi everyone,
I’ve been in the sublimation business for 15 years and can usually fix most printer issues but this one has me stumped. Since the new Sawgrass Print Utility came out, my prints have gone from crystal clear to grainy. Solid colors now appear dotty and textured rather than smooth, fine text is hit or miss, and the colours are completely off.

I’ve already done all the usual checks—nozzle checks, head flushes, different paper/settings—but nothing seems to improve the print quality. Has anyone else experienced this with the new software? If so, have you did a fix? I can add pictures if it helps. Would really appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance.

Hi Bex,
I am having the same issue - I tried to use the new system but couldn't get it to print clear so I went back to using Print Manager. I updated my Mac and lost PM. I don't know what to do - my photos look awful they look pixelated/dirty as well. I am trying to locate the ICC Profile for my SG500 - I've requested it from Sawgrass but haven't heard back. I am hoping to be able to print directly from Photoshop and bypass the Print Utility completely. Wish they would give us access to PM again - it worked perfectly.
Please let me know if you came up with any solutions. I'll see if I can send a photo as well.

The photo on the left was printed with my Sawgrass SG500 with the old Print Manager. The one on the right with the new Print Utility. I've tried several settings, can't get the images to come out clean.

Trying to find the correct ICC so I can print directly from Photoshop to my printer and bypass Print Utility. I purchased a copy online but it isn't working clearly. Will continue to email Sawgrass and work with ChatGTP for a work-around.

I went back and forth with Sawgrass support and they said they’re aware of the issue and working on a fix, which [/FONT][FONT=&quot]should[/FONT][FONT=&quot] be coming in a future update. Unfortunately, the most recent software update didn’t improve anything on my end.[/FONT][FONT=&quot][FONT=&quot][/FONT]

[FONT=&quot][FONT=&quot]They did send me a few suggested settings to try and while the prints looked [/FONT][FONT=&quot]slightly[/FONT][FONT=&quot] better, it’s still very hit and miss – colours are still off, pixelated and nothing like the results I used to get with Print Manager.[/FONT][/FONT]
