Etching cream on glass

Hi
I've just bought a sample pack of etching kit, is it any good for etching on glass can it be used for any other surfaces

I bought some a few years back and it’s ok it’s the etchall from mdp.
I did find you need to really slap it on thick and the longer you leave it the better the result.
