Ricoh SG3110 print issue

Hi,

I’ve had my trusty ricoh sg 3110 for about 10 years, it’s been a great little workhorse so it owes me nothing!

over the last week or 2 its developed intermittent lines in the print I’m guessing from the magenta print head.

ive attached a couple of photos. It comes and goes in different spots on different pages sometimes all over sometimes hardly any.

I’ve taken the heads out and cleaned them looking for anything on the heads, the only thing I’ve changed is xpres have discontinued the paper I was using and I’ve tried their new eco paper, which I thought maybe it’s something catching the head.

it might just be at the end of its life but the replacement options don’t seem great so thought I’d have one last shot at fixing it, any help would be appreciated

Hi. Yes this the end of the road for the printer I'm afraid. We saw this happen so many times on the SG3110 then we moved to the SG400 which are great if you can still find a second hand one - but then moved recently to SG3210 (don't buy SG500) although these are now gold dust sadly.

Thanks very much for your reply, thats a shame but like i say i cant complain its been a real little workhorse for me.

Whats wrong with the SG500? I bought the Epson SC F100 last week as bit of a backup, it will do for some of the jobs we need but the difference in quality is chalk and cheese with the SG3110 which is disappointing considering its 12 years newer.

Any other suggestions at all as a replacement if not the SG500?
