MDP's hot-flex
Re: MDP's hot-flex
Looking for a little guidance here please.
I have a cameo 4 and cutting is fine, glossy side down and it weeds really well, however I can never manage to get it onto the transfer paper - no matter how much pressure I use. Is there a knack to getting onto the transfer paper.
I'm using silhouette transfer paper.
Thank you

Re: MDP's hot-flex
Transfer paper?
hot flex doesn’t require and transfer paper.
you cut in mirror, weed, apply to garment.
the adhesive is hot melt on the Matt side and the clear gloss side is it’s own transfer film.
press the design and peel off.

Settings are as follows:

Force 3
Speed 4

Re: MDP's hot-flex
show pictures what you are doing.
reading your first post it sounds like you doing all good. glossy side down and glue side up. cut (not to deep) and then weed excess flex vinyl. What you got there now you need to put it on the garment and press. no need to use transfer paper with flex as its already has carriage sheet on.

I don’t use a cameo so wouldn't know the answer to that.chet;152786 wrote:Could I ask for further guidance please on the settings, not having much luck at the minute and loosing a lot of flex.

im not sure how your wasting it when all you need to do is cut it it’s like vinyl but with a rubbery feel and no wet adhesive.
do a small test cut before cutting a large design to ensure it weeds properly.
most machines have a test cut option even if it’s in the software.
Re: MDP's hot-flex
OK, found this on the MDP website
Mirror your graphic in your cutting software and cut on the matt / reverse side. Cut the garment film using the same pressure as standard sign vinyl. Cool Flex, Artflex, Prem Flock and Pro Flock may require a slightly higher pressure setting as these films are thicker

Im not sure what your asking anymore?chet;152791 wrote: I have a cameo 4 and cutting is fine, glossy side down and it weeds really well, however I can never manage to get it onto the transfer paper
your original post you had no issues cutting and weeding. it was only trying to use transfer mask which we cleared up you don’t need.
Now you can’t cut it?
Original question answered above so if you need more help you will need to be a bit clearer with your question.
Re: MDP's hot-flex
Yea apologies for that, you mentioned that it should be glossy side up, it was at this point that it would not cut.
Now I'm glossy side down and mirroring the image and all is well.
Thanks
