So I just bought this Pixmax 50x50 heat press below to replace my currently fault one. I thought they were the same but this one has a pressure screw in a different place - on the body of the machine. My other machine has the pressure screw right above the platen. This means my old machine lowers horizontally and applies even pressure even on thicker items, while my new machine only applies even pressure on thin items and when the items are thicker the platen doesn't manage to tilt enough to go horizontal and so I have uneven pressure on the ceramic tiles I am printing. Disaster.
Are there any inventive ways I can fix this? I think the easiest option might be to come up with a thinner silicone pad to replace the currently one, I might be able to tinker to get it horizontal for sublimating ceramic tiles this way as there is a little play in the title of the platen with a screw above the platen (but not enough to fix the problem itself). Has anyone tried loosening the bolts above the upper platen to drop its nose or maybe the opposite with the lower platen?
Many thanks,
Owen
