Possibly two problems?
Re: Possibly two problems?
Hi all, I hope someone can guide me as I need help, after my Brother DCP1610W Black and White laser printer/scanner played up I removed the LAN wire and made it Wi-Fi but the M/c shows “Deep Sleep“ and the green Wi-Fi button does not now light up but it will eventually print when I click print, unfortunately it was printing landscape even though I ticked the portrait box, suddenly!! it is now printing portrait (I don’t know how, as all I did was continue to tick the portrait box) but now when I print a saved document from a file the document is much too big to fit on the A4 paper and it prints only half the page as the first for or five letters are missing, if I open the “ Brother Utilities” it’s also big like starting the pc in safe mode, all the icons and taskbar are big and if I click on the CC4 tab and close the Utilities down by sliding the page to expose the X and the CC4 dashboard is behind but at normal size.
Sorry I hope this is not too confusing

I can’t comment on the printer as I don’t have one but it sounds like your print settings are causing the issue you have described about the portrait and landscape setting.

I have this very model and this happened to me when I wasn't printing for few days. I had to turn it off and reinstall all software as couldn't wake it up.

Re: Possibly two problems?
Hi, thanks for the replies, which I have only just been alerted to, and yes there is something screwed in the settings and I have just spotted the Portrait again and run off a practice sheet and this time it printed portrait, and I have also managed to reduce the print to fit on the A4 paper so I am halfway there, but the Utilities still open in safe mode and will not fit the screen, Paul might have a point as this printer is probably now 3 yrs old and I am still using the ink cassette it was delivered with as I only need to print every now and again
Re: Possibly two problems?
