Re: Colour issue - checked nozzles etc
Hi
Anyone have any idea what I need to do to fix this. I'm printing a moneybox with a grey elephant and some text, in grey. Today, using my Sawgrass 7100dn, it printed more pinky. I haven't changed anything and it usually prints very nicely.
I think my waste ink is almost full but I don't see why that might affect it. Printed lots of mugs yesterday and they were fine.
Any suggestions as to why this might be.
Cheers

Have you printed a nozzle check pattern?
Might be black isn't coming through.

Yes, I've done a nozzle check and all is good. All 4 colours look fine.

Can you make your own cmyk colour bars and print them to see how they come out - I've seen printers do perfect nozzle test patterns but problems show up when actually printing

Pisquee, thanks for the idea. I don't know how to do this, in terms of do I use html colour or RGB etc. I'm happy to try it if you could advise.
I tried updating the driver today as I'd done a mug which had had a purple design on it, and it came out really blown. Reinstalled the driver and printed again and it was fine, as were the other 15 mugs I've done today. Tried to redo the moneybox, came out exactly the same as the one before. I've printed this previously and it came out a nice grey as shown in original picture. I was wondering whether it was my mug press, but the 2 moneyboxes were so consistent in colour it makes me think it cant be that.
Cheers

I use photoshop CS6 and print using the Power Driver. I've had the printer for 4 years and presses from BMS - new sleeve in the mug press last year. I'm currently using Orca mugs from MDP but the same is happening on everything. Far too pink.

Hmm ...
I know you have done nozzle checks but my first guess (and only guess at the moment, to be honest!) is that there is a problem with your CYAN cartridge, or nozzle. Lack of cyan would turn greys pink.
Sorry I can't be more helpful than that, Harlequeen.

Thanks for the idea. I'll do another nozzle check. I was trying to find a telephone number or a way of contacting Sawgrass but can't find anything. Worst possible time of the year for this to happen

Try just printing a page of cyan.
