Magnetic material question

I sell a LOT and I mean a lot of vehicle magnetic signs.
I’m currently using the magnetic material from mdp supplies and have been very happy with it but it’s very bulky and thick.

I have been looking at the 0.6mm magnetic on xpres, but having no experience with it I don’t fancy sending out customer orders on untested material.
Has anyone else here used the 0.6mm from xpres and what’s the whole thoughts on it?

Is it less magnetic than the 0.8mm and likely to fly off a car on a dual Carriageway etc.

Magnetic material is graded. The thickness is sometimes not relevant, but it will state that it is vehicle grade material which means what it says (this is what I was told many many moons ago anyway).

thanks for that I’ll take a look. I have metal plates on my Roland so I have to print to vinyl then apply which is a pain but easy enough to do.

It’s a pain with Roland machines as I remember researching about the metal run off plates. Basically some models are made with aluminium (like mine) while others are not and apparently it’s a bit of a lottery what yours is made off and whether you can print direct or not.

Fortunately I got lucky…

It’s a pain with Roland machines as I remember researching about the metal run off plates. Basically some models are made with aluminium (like mine) while others are not and apparently it’s a bit of a lottery what yours is made off and whether you can print direct or not.

I wonder if you can get hold of Aluminium plates maybe second hand from dead machines?

I would suggest getting something bespoke made perhaps by a fabricator. You may even find that sticking some sort of felt/material over your existing plates might be enough. Although you will be using vehicle grade magnetic roll so it might be too strong.

I though about sticking a few layers of banner vinyl over the top.
