Ricoh GXE3300N error code 994

I'm hoping someone is able to help with this.....

This printer is a good few years old and has never caused any issues, until recently. Just as it starts getting ready to print, an error 994 appears on the display. If I switched off and back on again it sometimes cleared the issue, but just recently the error message won't clear.

Google doesn't give any answers. I contacted Ricoh support a few months ago but I've heard nothing back.

Does anyone know what this could be?
