Hi Folks,
I used to be on here many moons ago, based on the Staffs/Shropshire border..I work from home and want to get back into my mug printing again, I have all the relevant artwork I require, bought printer, paper etc etc..but, the old (second hand) X-Pres press I have seems to have issues...
I appreciate we all have preferences on which mug press (mostly for Sparta mugs, if not purely for) but hate to ask that cliche of a question.. "Which press is the best"..however, that's the stage I'm at... oh dear, decisions, decisions...wish me luck folks please.

I must add too, that I've come back to this forum as I always found it the most sensible and genuine one out there.. so I'm going to do some serious research on here and evaluate all your expert opinions if that's OK.

Thank You Kind folk

Genie III (aka arc press) is a great press. We use a bank of these for bone China plus a bank of Adkins Studio mug presses for ceramic but arc great value in my opinion.

Although I use ovens I also have GENIE III which is an excellent machine.

However just to be clear, they are not exactly the same as the ARC machines. I only know this because I needed to purchase a new blanket. As I was already ordering from a supplier who sold the ARC press I figured I would simply order a blanket from them as well. The guy refused to sell me one stating that they had already tried an ARC blanket in a GENIE III and it did not work. I have no idea if this is 100% accurate or not, but as they are a reputable supplier and as he was refusing to sell me something and instead directing me to another supplier I have no reason to doubt him.

Just to say they are the same as we have bought these presses marketed as "Genie III" and "Arc" and the press is 100% the same (down to the screws) and we have mixed and matched blankets.

That's good enough for me :-)

Out of interest, are the timings the same? The main reason I purchased the GENIE III many moons ago was simply because of the speed. If you put an ARC blanket in a GENIE press can you still press a mug at 45 seconds?

We only do bone china in these presses but indeed set to 40s although as we know the mug is still in there for around 2-3 mins so a little misleading hey :-)
