Re: Bn20 for £3k should I or not?
I have a chance to buy a bn20 for £3k and it’s mint.
Nozzle check is spot on but I don’t know what else to ask or look out for.
What questions should I ask about the printer?
What can I print apart from vinyl?
My main use would be vehicle magnets but I have drawn a blank as to what other uses as the size is limiting.

Ask how old is the machine. How many cartridges gone through it. was genuine inks used all the time?
Nozzle can be perfect now and packed up in the month. So if there is no much milage on the printer than you should be good to go.
Just to bear in mind that new head is around £1500 plus labour. You can also put second hand printers on service plan. it cost about £86 a month. Sounds a bit but if you having working then this is a peanuts! Printer is covered for everything. incl. heads. withing 3 days you have a phone call and new parts fitted free of charge. also they will remember about servicing it for you.
I am on th eplan from day one and had to use them once for head.
You can print stickers, canvas, HTV, banners... ANything that accept solvent inks and is in size of 50cm. Plenty of media out there.

Are you vat registered? If you are then a new one is <£5k + vat and comes with a one year warrenty. At £86 month that means the cost of owning a new printer is only £1k more than the used one +warranty.
What ink set does it have? White and silver can be problematic if left to sit.

Its a very slow machine, IMO there are better printers/deals to be had. I would look to buy a used machine from a main dealer if money was so tight. You need something with some warranty even if it was 6 months worth. If you are running the right work through it you should be in profit within 6 months (from a standing start)
If a used machine (with 6 month warranty) was £6,000 then if you cant earn that from the machine in 6 months you arent ready to buy a printer.
Good luck

money isn’t the question it’s more of can I really justify a printer?froggy;145573 wrote:Its a very slow machine, IMO there are better printers/deals to be had. I thought £3k was really cheap thats all and I have t had a reply yet.
Its more a should I get it and expand my range or for £3k leave it and wait for the right time to buy a new printer when I’m ready.
I suppose the fact I’m questioning it is probably the answer already.

Where can I sign up for it Paul?Paul;145597 wrote:get on the plan

I could really do with a few good suppliers of 500mm media too as mdp only do a few bits.

Roland. Call them. tell them you got second hand machine. Engineer will visit with service app and will check your head. once he confirm that machine is in working order, they will be able to put you on service plan. then you can smash the jobs without worry if machine goes tits up
as thery will fix it straight away for you.
Biggest choice I think is with Grafityp. Problem is, that they do not explain well the difference in between them all. When I asked them, they had no much idea.
t this moment, best for general t-shirt printing I found is YOLO Graffiti. Easy to weed . they also have brilliant masking tape. https://www.yolo.co.uk/sef-graffiti---e ... 6797-p.asp
Ask for sample. they will send few
