Why some polyesters works while others dont?

Hello guys. Im messing with polyester textiles and wonder: Why some of my custom made fabrics, or ever "sublimation blanks" works perfectly. But others dont.

For example: I ordered some socks. The first batch was quite okay. But second one is absolutely unusable (fourth piece on picture). All of them are supposed to be 95%poly + 5%spendex (or lycra...) Close material. Based on polyester. Am I missing something? Is sublimable polyester something rare and special?

Id be infinitely glad for any advice or opinion.

Are you printing onto the same brand of socks?
Have ANY of the variables changed? Paper? Ink? Print settings? Software settings? Temperature? Time?

I played a lot with settings during my experiments. Nothing helped. On the picture is the exactly same print, same settings (temp, pressure, time). All of them are some sort of 95% polyester blends. Just for some reason, some of them turned really faded. And dim. (not ICC profile kind of faded, its worse...)

Some fabrics needs different temperatures and time.
Also, some fabrics are coated, or if, as you say, aren't 100% poly, depending on the weave the outer/top layer may be the 5% non poly

[MENTION=1209]pisquee[/MENTION] That would made sense. I was thinking about the coating as well. It is really weird. I went to a fabric-shop and bought everything polyester they had. Not a single problem! Sure, materials are different, feelings vary. But print was quite okay. So I dont get why this one went so off. Guess I will just try another supplier of polyester yarn.

I always find letting the ink dry fully produces much better results. I normally leave my prints drying for an hour or 2. I would imagine, it also has a lot to do with pressure too. If you used the same pressure setting for each of those socks, it could possibly be why they have all turned out different, as they all look to be different thicknesses.

I dont think either pressure or dry-time could cause so much of a difference. But I still have some blanks left, so I will experiment further more with pressure and let you know if it helped. It's a good thing to cosider, yes.
