Epson F6200/ Adobe Illustrator

I’m new at all this as i am a builder, but I’m learning fast due to these current times. I’m currently making a collage of photos. The colours all looked good as i have built it in Adobe Illustrator. However when it came to printing and sublimating onto an MDF panel they became very dark. I have adjusted the monitor contrast , but I’m unsure on my next step. Should i sort out the colour management in Adobe or the colour management in the printer? I’m after any experienced advice please. Cheers All.
