I would like to have a go and printing onto wood, so looking at Magic Touch CPM 6.2 and RST 9.1 papers.

I don't fancy shelling out for an OKI white, so can anyone recommend an A4 colour OKI printer to pair up with these papers?

Do you know if the Coverseal paper is also required to seal the image onto hard surfaces?

Hi Gary. We are about to sell our Ghost White Toner set-up as in reality bought but never had the time to look into. It is a far cheaper white toner solution to OKI. If interested I can dig out details tomorrow in regards to printer and toner levels?

Sorry to wade in but comparing the Ghost toner system is like comparing a state of the art dye sub printer with a used printer that has been standing in the corner for 15 years.

The ghost system simply does not work, the toner set up is completely wrong meaning there is no longevity in the prints.

I appreciate you want to sell your printer, but this has been advised and stated many times.

It is also not cheaper if you are to do white toner prints on any serious level.

I use an Oki C610n. I got it cheap on eBay. It's not a white printer but fine for using with Magic Touch paper to be used on lighter media.

In answer to this, it all depends on what you want to do. As you know, laser transfers sit "on top" of the substrate unlike sublimation. So anything you press will be more prone to scratching.

Having said that I recently did a collection of 4 mugs for a music tour. They wanted 4 different colours (1 for each band member). I was hesitant at first because of the dishwasher aspect, however, I put some test mugs in my local cafe's dishwasher for a week and they lasted all week which is well over 250 washes.

So is the Coverseal only going to apply itself to the printed text or will it leave a shiny film over the gaps also?

I suppose my other question about all of this is; can only white toner provide weed free transfer printing or will any of these other papers do the same thing with black toner?

I want my printed wood to remain natural with text, rather than having a shiny coating over all of it.

I was wondering what the 'enhanced' meant? The same printer can be bought for a fraction of the price. Is it perhaps a driver for white toner rather than standard black?

Are you talking about T-Seal? If so that is only for garments.

I would say that you would need to use RST paper which doesn't leave a residue and it pretty durable on wood (and as a bonus you don't even need to use a heat press so can do really obscure shapes).

I have no idea if that requires a white toner system or not as I have a white system so never needed to check.

socialgiraffe It's ok, I found the Coverseal in a video and it appears to be a clear film which covers the whole area.

Will RST scratch off on wood without a sealant?
