Excuse the capitals headline, wasn't paying attention to caps key but might get your attention so left it. Wondered who used magictouch vinyls magicut 123 flex and premium and what the consensus was on it. We've used siser Hi5 which is 5 second at 120 (actually do it at 125 and 8 secs as don't trust fast press vinyls!) the printables no bother but the coloured is very stretchy and sometimes it catches out the cutter when the sheet wiggles and so the odd place doesn't cut or goes wonky, not often but we noticed it. So having not tried magicut I thought to ask for first hand experience, don't want stuff that falls off or is so thick it creases, I'm sure that's not the case but reviews if you can please. We like low temperature and quick for polyester sportswear but also hi vis like sweatshirts as high temp tends to get the yellow (or orange) bleeding out everywhere. I don't think its particularly cheap compared to siser but then we buy quite a bit from grafityp so get a good rate.
Thanks
Mark
Magicut 123 flex & premium opinions please
Re: Magicut 123 flex & premium opinions please
I use a lot of their white, it’s very thick but easy to weed. I use mdp hot flex for black as the 123flex gives a horrible shiny finish. Speak to the guys at magic touch, they will certainly look after you on price.
Re: Magicut 123 flex & premium opinions please
thanks, yes mdp is another option, xpres too have quick low temp vinyls, you get in a cycle of just using what your tried and tested which works in the main and accept the oddities of the materials rather than set aside time to test alternatives so always handy to see what others have experienced.
Re: Magicut 123 flex & premium opinions please
Blockout is one area where MDP doesn't do well. They have their 'Blockout' range which works as it should. The downside is that it is very thick and plasticy after aplication. Ok for softshell jackets and outerwear but the hand is too heavy for sportswear.
They have a new 'Rapide' vinyl that applies in 5 secs at 160, but they don't give any guidance as to lower temp/longer time application.

Re: Magicut 123 flex & premium opinions please
we mostly use Flex premium at 160c for about 15 seconds but do keep 123.
123 has various time options
3 sec at 160 down to 15 secs at 120c - so good on poly.
Issue with all the FAST vinyl is de lamination if over cooked....
too much time can ruin the adhesive, so if layering, or doing both sides and leave on a bit long then you are F###ed !
123 premium is higher tac, - like flex premium with the lower temp / fast time options but can still take detail.
Although we hate to use it, vinyl removal spray can sometimes get you out of trouble with a typo etc, - but they don't work on the high speed vinyls.....
Biggest issue for Logobear is having different types in the same shop environment. if they get mixed up, can accidentally apply wrong ....
As a rule we get everything from TMT as their product is very consistent & reliable.
