Started having an issue tonight with some mugs, blacks coming out brown'ish

Cant remember if thats too hot or too long that cause black to go brown............... jeez im getting old,,,

HELP :(

Nothing has changed in set up

BMS mugs
Trupix paper
170 for 120 seconds

have always used the same,,,,, until.................................. lol

That's way less than I do mine for - 180/180. Usually, blacks turning brown are due to overheating.

If they've always been ok with those temps and times, and your setup hasn't changed, then maybe your press has developed a fault and is recording the wrong temperature.

What mug press are you using? Which inks? As webtrekker states, 180/180 is best starting point but Ricoh based SG inks cook for slightly less time, around 160.

Brown 'usually' indicates over cooking but I'd check all of your settings through.
