Re: Sublimation film - Printing Problem

Post by coverizing »

Hello there,
we print 3d phone cases, we use slim hard plastic cases.
We tried to convert our business from paper (we used the TexPrint XP version HR) to transparent film printing but we’re facing some problems with the film printing.
On the contrary of the paper, the film printing is always very wet after the printing process. So the quality of the design, especially the ones with writings, is lower.

We have an SG400 printer.
The films are Sublimation Transfer Film A5:
Model No. A5FI
Material Film
Color Transparent

We use high quality print settings, and tried different paper type (plain, glossy..) but nothing really worked.
Do you have any advice?

Hello, I had the same problem with my Epson 1500W and ArTainium inks. I switched to Inktec Sublinova inks and problem was solved. Ofen it all comes from the printer/ink. What ink do you use ? Also I heard SG400 was not designed for film printing so...

Last thing you can try, is to lower printing quality.

Don't have a link, just a PDF our account manager there emailed us - they're expecting first stocks in 6-8 weeks (takes time to ship in from Korea!)

We now have the Inktec 3D sublimation film in stock. After speaking with Inktec they have agreed that we can supply the film under our own brand name 'Subli-FILM' (as its supplied plain label / no branding).

It is available in A4 sheets in 25-50 sheet packets - https://www.inkexpress.co.uk/catalogue/ ... -Film.html

I will speak to Inktec about this, I did raise the concern with Inktec that the majority of 3D presses use A5 size film but didn't really get a response from them. You could always cut the film in half to make A5 sheets but ideally A5 pre-cut would be better.

Thanks for the reply Alex , My 3D film machine is A5 subliDeck ..Better to have precut as I dont know how to cut A4s that smooth and acurate specially as they are too glossy on one side .We dont want to cut one by one lol...Please let me know if you get them in stocks .Thanks

I'll speak to Inktec about supplying A5 sheets, I simply cut my A4 sample sheets with a Stanley blade with no issues just did a few sheets at a time as they are pretty thick.
