Re: Supplier of caravan hitch covers in UK needed

Post by bloobloo »

As per the title, I am looking for someone to point me in the right direction. I am looking for someone who can supply hitch covers for caravans that can be sublimated. Or has anyone had any success with the standard "Maypole, Sunncamp etc" ones that can be bought from various accessory shops?
many thanks

Most seem to be PVC so off the shelf option would probably struggle under the heat. If it needs to be waterproof then that would be more problematic in sourcing. Having blanks made would not be that bad as it is a simple shape. Picking the material to suit really depends on the above waterproof necessity. Not sure how much protection from the elements the Gym sack type of polyester would give but there the same material as pacamac would probably print. Otherwise, a trial of the SBR neoprene type material would possibly work. Just a bit of cut and sew work then.

Hi Andrew, thanks for the reply.
The covers do not need to be totally waterproof, just water resistant. I'm not sure if the Gym sack type of material would be thick enough to be honest and whether it would be hardy enough to withstand lots of movement in the wind. I have emailed Bags4everything to see if they can help but no reply as of yet.

These used to be screen printed, I don't think sublimation would work as it would fade due to UV

Can you post a link/photo to show what you're talking about?

Maybe try plastisol transfers.

The link posted by Justin in another thread points to a decent site (graphiscreen) that also does plastisol transfers for harder wear, such as workwear and tool bags, and they seem very reasonably priced, plus they supply small orders too.

Thanks, I will look into it.

I was hoping to sublimate as the logo of the clubs are quite detailed, too much for cold stick vinyl. I will probably go down the route of making my own as was suggested earlier.
