Sublimation Copper

Is there such a thing as sublimation copper? Actual copper rather than coloured. What other printing methods are there to get a digital image onto a sheet of glossy copper?

Polished copper will need an etch primer for the polymer coating to adhere to which defeats the object.

I can live with brushed copper. The only methods I've seen are applying acrylic polyurethane with laser image transfer or UV printing, but none of those are ideal.
