Hi everyone.

I was hoping to get you opinions on this screen printing carousel ( http://silkscreeningprintsupplies.co.uk ... 1431-p.asp ).

Please can you have a look at the specification amd try not to compare it too much to the more expensive carousels.

Is this a decent carousel for the price and what it is capable of?

What are the limitations I might come across if any?

Thanks.

Im not a screen printer so cant comment on the carousel. My only thoughts are that the screens are too small. 23x30 is smaller than A4 once the design is on the screen.

I think you're thinking of cm. It's in inches.

By the looks of things you will struggle with any sort of tight registration. There doesn't seem to be much option for micro adjustment of the screen position when its locked in place. I know it says in the blurb that there is, but I am not convinced.

Will happily stand corrected by someone more knowledgeable though as I ditched screen printing years ago.

I presume you realise that you will NOT be able to print full colour on black garments with this unit. You need a minimum of 5 screens for four colour on dark garments as you need to lay a base white. Ideally you need to be looking at 6, 8 or even 12 colour stations.

Thanks. I did question the micro registration as it doesnt look mich like other models. Yes i realise that i would only be able to do process printing on white shirts.

I'm looking online for carousels but there arnt many options in the uk. And the price jump is quite high.

I may have to considet 2nd hand carousels.

That does look better in terms of machine. The previous company (Silk Screening Supplies) are well known and I would have no hesitation in purchasing from them if there was something I wanted. I have never heard of Pyramid though. Although, like I say, I have been out of the game for a number of years now.

Personally, if you are serious about screen printing then I would advise getting something a long the lines of a M&R or similar. Dave Roper is the company and are well known for being established and have an excellent reputation. It is a lot more money than you were probably wanting to pay, but at least then you have something that will service you for many years.

Buy good kit once and you never have to purchase again.

Should have read it properly, I forgot you still work in feet and inches. My bad.
I agree with what Social is saying though. Acurate registration is very important.

Thank. Yeah. I think the second one has legit micro registration. The first one does look a little suspect. It does have aditional knobs on the first one but can seem to figure out h9w they might work. The secobd one has a lot more registration points.

the second still doesn't have true micro registration, just positioning dials that mean that you can tweak the frame position.
getting and keeping registration is key. Both those shown look pretty flimsy, but it is all down to budget.
I just got this from dave roper
https://daveroper.co.uk/product/hopkins ... 4-station/
really solid and VERY adjustable bit of kit.
Significantly improves even 1 colour jobs as every possible aspect can be adjusted.
what kind of work are you wanting to do?
