Hi
I am able to use hotflex on a fleece, it's quite a thin pile on the fleece, has anyone tried this and if so was it successful

Thanks

I've done quite a few fleeces with vinyl. It does squash the pile down a bit but not noticeable and no complaints from customers. I warn them that it might peel of if the fleece comes out, although I don't know if that happens or not. Not had anyone come back regarding them.

Edited to add I've now read all the posts from the top regarding hot flex on fleece and everyone seems to say it doesn't work. lol

Thanks Tricia thankfully the inside of the fleece is the same pile as the outside so I can try a test piece first

It usually works on Microfleece but it does sometimes come away. And, in my experience, it will leave a flattened area where the press was. Depends on the fleece but this usually does not come out.
Always tell the customer or show them an example of one you have done before. Thats what I do.

I've pressed vinyl onto fleece (once!) I used a scrap fleece, cut a piece off and put this over the vinyl when pressing. it's a trick I've seen done before and does protect the fleece a little but you'll still get pile squash. Avoid at all costs is my advice, I'm just getting 12 fleeces embroidered for a customer now ;-)

I'm a firm believer in pushing things to the limits to try and get results that were deemed nigh on impossible, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and settle on the fact that, no matter how hard you try, it's just not going to work, and there are other techniques that were made for the job (eg. embroidery, sewn patches, etc).
