Has anyone actually tested their mugpress for temp against what it shows on the screen ?

Im using a Freesub pneumatic one at the minute and have had very good results, however, decided i would check today as i ran out of mugs for an order and had to buy locally from MDP (normally use xpress 5013) and never had an issue))

Wow,, it was 10-15 degrees out from bottom to top, so glad i don't do full image..

incidently, had to adjust for the MDP Orca mugs, now at 170 degrees for 120 seconds and results are spot on

Hi, i have heating press JTrans and epson l210 with sublimation inks. This mug is made at 110degrees low temperatue, 180 degrees high and 180seconds, but I don't know if can you see well on the bottom the color is faded and it's not good. So can you please tell me if the temperature and time that I used is right or not?

Id personally try an higher temperature also are you putting the mug far enough into the press. Ive found if one end of the mug is to close to the edge then it may come out faded there.

What are MDP Orca mugs ?. Im having difficulties getting my mugs getting the colour black where it should be. Its coming out brown im doing them at 199 for 150 secs. Do I lower one or both.

@Aneta - Try pre-heating the mugs before the final pressing. I pre-heat mine to 110 degrees C in a second mug press then transfer to the main press at 180 degrees C for 180 secs.

@Louise - 199 degrees C seems way too high and would definitely burn the blacks in my press.

Thanks Wetbrekker you were absolutely right . In fact ive copied your settings of 180 180 and its about has near to black has I can get without buying a very expensive ink. Apparently black is difficult to get right in sublimating.

Getting a brown black s due to over cooking the mug. You'll need to reduce the temp and the time. I would set the temp at 170 and the time at 140 to begin with.
