Insert Card printing & cutting

I'm trying to source full colour printed inlay cards to go inside my blister clam packaging. Some of the packs come with a blank card but the corners are rounded and I'm told to reproduce these I'd need a die cutter. intention is to buy without the card.

I have found the ideal supplier but even getting samples is proving painful so I'm not hopeful of building a relationship.

Is this something I could do in-house? Print sheets of card and put them through my Graphtec cutter maybe? Would be great to do this in-house but as I need 100's/1000's it may not be feasible.

Any suggestion/advise appreciated!

We get custom inlay cards printed by www.printed.com. We design in-house and they create custom print, cut and crease quote. Worth talking with them as we get all our greeting cards and postcards printed with them as well.

Yes, so do we. Good bit of kit. Not as cheap as you would think but certainly cuts well every time.

(In reply to post #2) That's ok for stickers (kiss-cut), but to cut outlines from card you'd need to use a mat.

Doing your own print & cuts offers a lot of scope, especially when changing designs at short notice.

Depending on the weight of the insert a Roland Versacam can do this.

You can print the insert and then cut it out in one go. You will use more cutting strips than normal and there will be a steep learning curve on getting that sweet spot, but it is possible

You could go down the diy route, get the die made (probs around £60 - £90) then cobble it together with an old clam heat press - no heat needed, just the weight or action.

Well, I finally got around to trying print and cut on the Graphtec, not taken me several years! Surprised just how good that was I could print A2/A3 cards and cut them this way, seems a bit laborious.

If I could just get this bloody printing company to respond! Companies simply don't seem to want new business nowadays
